Joan Mitchell Blumenthal is an accomplished artist who has exhibited in numerous shows, most recently in the Audubon Artists 49th Annual Exhibition. Her drawing adaptions illustrate the 1987 edition of Edmund Rostand's Chantecler, translated by Kay Nolte Smith. She's written articles on art published in the Gannett Newspapers and the American Artist, March 1972, March 1973, and September 1973, as well as The Objectivist, November and December 1968. She's taught painting and drawing since 1965, and co-authored a 12 lecture course, "Music: Theory, History and Performance." She, and her psychiatrist husband, Allan, were long time friends of Ayn Rand. |
