Doug Mayfield is a practicing physician in Los Angeles, California. After a BA in applied mathematics from Harvard University and an MD from Washington University in Saint Louis, he trained in anesthesiology at Northwestern U. Medical School in Chicago and was an assistant professor of anesthesiology at the University of Chicago before entering private practice. Having received his masters degree in film/screen writing from the American Film Institute, Los Angeles, in June of this year, he is currently pursuing a career as a screen writer. In his "spare time", he is a licensed pilot, holding commercial and instrument ratings; he plays Backgammon competitively (ranked 86th in the world), and collects art as passionately as time and money permit. |
